Did you get this Nala on Ebay somewhere around November or early December? I think I may have been watching this one and right when I was going to buy her--she was sold. But happily I found another one later.
These Applause Simba and Nalas are interesting because pretty much every one of them looks unique. They're all high quality and a beautiful plush, but it's like the manufacturer had issues getting the eyes in the same spot, especially with the Simbas. The new Disney Store adult Simba and Nala seem much, much more consistent in appearance. But I have a hard time deciding which pair (old or new) I like more, lol.
Yeah, there were a lot listed then, now there's none. This is the Nala I was looking at: [link]
I thought the profile of her head looked really nice. I'm amazed by how plush (the really good ones) are like soft sculptures.
Yeah, I pretty much agree--old fabric but the new faces. I think all of the nice embroidery and other small details on the new plush would be harder to pull off with the old thick fabric, though. Thin fabric is just easier to work with for some things. The new Disney plush (and not only TLK) just really, really look like the characters they're supposed to represent, moreso than most old plush, I think. I wish they would make a Kiara and Kovu in the new style.
An adult Kovu would be pretty cool... I'd love to see Vitani, Nuka, and Zira, too. Given how the rest of the Disney plush are looking right now, I think it's pretty likely that they would actually look like the characters. I still can't believe the only Vitani or Nuka plush are the little Mattel beanies, while Zira only got a McDonald's toy >.<
Straight-to-video characters get no love, even if they happen to have large online followings.
